BMW Ghost Immobiliser
The Ghost utilizes the CAN data bus for communication with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from replacing the ECU or putting in new locks to bypass the security system.
The Ghost is unlike other immobilisers because it does not use key fobs or LED indicators. It uses the buttons on your vehicle to let you enter a unique disarming sequence that only you know.
Stop & Start
If you've ever driven a brand new BMW or used the stop-start feature, you may have noticed that when you stop the engine the engine will still run for about 30 seconds after you release the brake pedal. The BMW engine management system continues to watch the vehicle for signals coming from the ignition key. Once it finds this the vehicle will continue to run. The Autowatch 2 Ghost is a device that can stop this by stopping the vehicle whenever you hit a button.
Our BMW ghost immobiliser is a revolutionary next-generation device that does not require cutting OEM wires or installing an aftermarket alarms or key fobs. It is connected to the BMW CAN data network, and is programmed with a unique PIN code that is accessed by buttons in your car. This allows you to enter the key push sequence that is not in the normal media menus, such as volume up/down, cruise control, source or aircon on and stops your car from starting unless the sequence is entered. The PIN can be between 4 and 20 characters, making it hard for thieves to figure out.
We can also add a service/valet mode. This is activated while your car is being serviced so that the Ghost is kept from view by the garage. This can be done by pressing the service button on your infotainment device 5 times (the system will flash to confirm this) and then when you return the Ghost will re-arm automatically.
Ghost immobilisers are highly recommended for top-of-the-line automobiles. It is completely undetectable, doesn't require cutting any original factory wires, and can disable the engine of your vehicle when an incorrect pin code is entered. It's a simple, but effective way to prevent your vehicle from being stolen even with a cloned key. Service / Valet Mode
The Ghost is a market-leading immobiliser designed to prevent your vehicle from being taken by key cloning or hacking. It works by using the factory buttons on your vehicle to create a unique sequence of pushes that only you can identify, much like the pin code security on your mobile phone. It's incredibly secure, discreet and can deter even the most obstinate thieves!
When parked at your home or in a meet and greet situation in a meeting and greet situation, the Ghost can be set to service mode. This allows you to start the vehicle using your keys, but it stops the engine from starting again until the correct code is entered. This is perfect for customers who have to hand over their cars to valet service companies or trusted family members and friends. It also allows you to bring the vehicle into the garage for repairs, maintenance etc without worrying about it being taken away or altered by a mechanic whilst you are waiting.
Once the service / valet mode is activated it will stop your BMW from being able to drive after it has been started. This prevents anyone from attempting to test drive while you are away. When you return, the car will return to normal operation and prevent it from being tampered or stolen again.
The Ghost can be fitted to any BMW. All you need are the correct keys because the device does not utilize the original remotes, but can be used in conjunction with them. We are TASSA-registered, DBS-security checked and fully trained in system installation. You can be confident that the installation will be completed correctly and your Ghost device will work according to the specifications. Your car will also be registered on a database and you will receive a document that you can show to your insurance company, they love these devices and often see substantial discounts!
If you don't want to use a smartphone or don't feel comfortable with it, we can supply an optional Bluetooth tag that can be used to turn off the Ghost. This is an extra cost and requires a separate Bluetooth pairing.
Anti-Hijack
With hi-tech thieves becoming more advanced, the security technology has to change, that's why Ghost has created this subtle and non-obtrusive immobiliser. It's designed to stop thieves from acquiring a new key or replacing the ECU to start your car and then drive away. Ghost is connected to your CAN network and uses buttons on your vehicle to create an individual push-sequence that has to be entered before the engine can begin.
Once the anti-hijacking mode is activated, any attempt to restart the engine will be thwarted. If the system detects that the vehicle is no longer moving, it will honk the horn and flash the indicators. If it fails to find the correct code it will also stall the engine (where it is). The Anti-Hijack feature can be removed by entering your push sequence or by entering service mode that allows your car to start and drive without having to enter your PIN.
If you have an GPS device that is connected to your BMW it is possible to use it to turn off the Anti-Hijack feature, allowing you to still use the navigation system in your car whilst the vehicle is parked and unsupervised. You can also use your mobile phone to control the anti theft feature and other functions.
This product is Tassa-verified and is recognized by a majority of insurance companies. It will reduce the chances of your joy and pride being stolen. It is completely discrete and will not interfere with the functionality of your vehicle. It does not require any special programming knowledge to install or use. It is totally undetectable by tools for detecting that thieves use and it is totally invulnerable to key cloning because it connects directly to your vehicles CAN data network.
Remote Control
We can connect your Ghost device to your mobile app to allow remote control of keyless start and go functionality. This is useful when a valet or mechanic has to start your car and you are else. The system allows you to turn the vehicle on and off, then select drive and leave service mode without having your key fobs. You can also see your vehicle in real-time on a map displayed on your smartphone, ideal to track your car while in motion.
The Ghost can be placed under the dashboard, or within the centre console. It is completely hidden and secure, and does not need any additional wiring. The device is connected to CAN Data Network of the vehicle (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a personalised pin code is inserted into it. The pin code needs to be selected prior to the engine's start. This prevents thieves from using a cloned key or replacing the ECU to disable this system.
If the vehicle is being taken away, the Ghost will enter service mode and disable all functions until you have the PIN number or use the mobile application to disarm it. This is a feature that was designed to protect your vehicle from high tech thieves who are now utilising relay boxes to steal your vehicle. It will even stop the thieves from using their mobile phones to activate your sat-nav or MP3 player to track your car!
Ghost can also stop the 'Relay Style Frequency Amplifier'. This is the most typical method of preventing a vehicle from being stolen using a key fob that has been copied or stolen via hacking. Ghost can help you prevent this from happening by installing a device known as Secure-A Key inside your vehicle. The device is installed inside the key-fob of your vehicle and then disconnects the battery after a few inactive minutes. This can be done with the majority of modern PKE keys.
